It has been suggested that we go to the Lake Lawn Resort for the January fly-out, and that’s where we plan to go on Sunday, January 20th¸. Plan to arrive at about 9:30. The airstrip is open barring a significant snowfall, but even if we were to have some snow, Lake Lawn is within reasonable driving distance, so our Plan B is to drive there. If you fly-in it is about a five minute walk to the Frontier Restaurant, but a call to the Lodge - 262-728-7950 - will get you a ride there. On Sunday they feature a Champagne Brunch normally priced at $26.95, but a call to the Manager yielded an offer for a 20% discount without the champagne. The identifier is C59, runway is 18/36 with 4423’ x 80’ asphalt, and a track of about 340º for 28 NM will get you there from 3CK. There are no services provided.
Call or email Paul Ranieri if you are planning to go, flying or driving, if you have seats available or need a seat. This is important because we will need to tell them how many we are going to be. Paul can be reached at 847-997-0135 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We'll be meeting back in our usual location in the airport office. Social "hour" will begin around 6:30, with the formal meeting starting at 7:00. Mike Perkins will be joining us and giving a presentation on Radio Astronomy. For those of you who have never seen a Perkins presentation you are in for a real treat. I promise you will leave the meeting with a 5 point IQ bump.
