On Saturday February 18th, Gary Grimmonpre’ of Midwest Flight Check arranged a Monday Breakfast trip to Janesville, WI. Gary had obtained his private pilot’s license several years ago, loved to schedule fly outs with his friends and associates. Nancy Blazyk conveyed this invitation to the 790 Chapter members.
I picked up Rob Nelson at the Lake inthe Hills Airport at 8:40. It was a cool 30 degrees with clear skies, light breeze and a broken ceiling at 2500. Rob flew the 150 to the power plant just south of the Janesville Airport Rwy 4. The Janesville controller had his hands full, since there were a lot of folks flying that morning.
The on-airport Restaurant was very busy. Met Gary, has father Jerry, Dennis and Peggy Frett, Steve Hanpert, John Sobie, Nancy,Larry and Brian Blazyk, Ole Sindberg, Annette Barnum, Tom Nicol and Bjarne Sorensen. Bjarne’s team handles the skydiving at Airventure.
We discussed Brad DeLisle’s blog adventure in Alaska with Fly Wild Alaska and wished Brad success on his endeavors. Rob discussed, when asked the potential use of his vinyl art-work on airplanes, a potential new application for marketing. Ole and Tom displayed their 790 Chapter Cards which are used for inviting folks to our Chapter and providing contacts for any Young or Old Eagle Flyers. Bjarne invited 790 to arrange a trip to the Quad Cities for one of their Saturday Evening Chapter meetings.
Had a wonderful breakfast and visit.
Keep your eyes peeled for any upcoming flying opportunities with the Breakfast Club(s).
